Obituary of Lucy Marsillo

Please share a memory of Lucy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lucy Marsillo, age 95, of Fairfield, CT, entered into eternal life on March 25, 2024 in her Connecticut home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Marsillo.

Born in Locati, a province of Palermo, Sicily to the late Alberto and Santina Macaluso DiFiglia, Lucy immigrated with her mom to the United States in 1930. Lucy's father was in the United States and called them to this country. Lucy grew up in East New York. When Lucy graduated from High School, she was employed as a secretary for Rogers Peet, a well-known men's fashion manufacturer in Union Square. Lucy married Tony and moved to Rosedale, NY where they lived from 1957-1992. Lucy raised her children with Tony in Rosedale where she took tremendous pride in maintaining a smooth running household.

After her children were grown, she worked as a Sales Associate for Gimbels Department Stores in Valley Stream, NY. In 1992, Lucy and Tony moved to Fairfield, CT. She and Tony were married for 70 years and together they loved their family and would sacrifice anything for them. If you visited Lucy, you would most likely see her sitting in her living room recliner saying her prayers with her rosary beads in her hands. She was always praying for her family and friends. In many ways, Lucy was a selfless person, never wanting to burden anyone and always trying to take care of things herself. Whether that was cooking, cleaning, handling the bills, or just straightening up the house, she never asked for help.

Lucy's memory will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Jo Iannuccilli, and her husband, Joseph, of Greenwich; her sons, Anthony Marsillo, and his wife, Diane, of Fairfield and Dr. Robert Marsillo, of Fairfield; her adored grandchildren, Carianne and Peter Harten, of Greenwich, Joseph Anthony and Lauren Iannuccilli, of Bryn Mawr, PA, Anthony Joseph and Aimee Marsillo, of Cromwell, Jennifer Anne and Charles Stine, of Stratford, Kristen Marie Marsillo, of Milford and Scott Robert Marsillo, of Stratford; seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Peter, Lucy and Tony Harten and Joseph, Arlo and Mae Iannuccilli; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Victor Marsillo and Columbina, of Brooklyn, NY; In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by a brother-in-law and sister-in law, Pasquale and Mary Marsillo, of Brooklyn, NY.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Parish, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
